FAQs

1. Why should my business/organization be on the flash drive?

The flash drive will be given to over 1,300 freshman and transfer students-all potential new customers for your business or members of your organization. The flash drive also provides marketing possibilities that were not available with ordinary flyers-including hyperlinks to company websites and videos.

2. Whom can I contact for more information?

For more information, contact Tara Stone in New Student Programs at tara.stone@mst.edu or by phone at 573.341.4996.

3. It’s easier for me to print flyers; does my ad have to be an electronic copy?

Yes. We want to ensure that all ads are of the highest quality. Scanning paper copy flyers will cause the resolution of the images and text to be poor.

4. How long can I make my advertisement?

Your advertisement can be one full page in Word or Publisher format (portrait orientation); since we are no longer concerned about saving paper or space in goody bags, we are not limiting advertisements to 1/2 page or less, as requested in prior years.

5. What can I put on the page?

Missouri S&T encourages you to give a description of your business, geographic location, relation to the student body and any specials or discounts you may offer to Missouri S&T students.  However, Missouri S&T New Student Programs asks your business please keep in mind the target population; the incoming students are generally between the ages of 17-19. Therefore, we ask that you refrain from any alcohol, drug or sexual content.

6. What if my company puts coupons on the page, can’t they print out more than one copy?

The coupons can be printed multiple times. To prevent this, New Student Programs suggests providing students with coupons that have deadlines and are only valid with a Missouri S&T ID.

7.  Is this a fundraiser with a different name?

Missouri S&T is providing area businesses with the opportunity to advertise to incoming students.  The advertising fee helps New Student Programs provide each student with a flash drive. The fee is not for fundraising, but advertising services.

8. Who do I send the advertisement to?

Please send your flyers to Tara Stone at tara.stone@mst.edu by June 8.

9. What is the deadline for turning in the advertisement?

The deadline to submit a flyer is June 8.

10. Can New Student Programs generate a flyer if my business provides general information?

Yes we can! For the details, visit our pricing page
