Opening Week Orientation will acquaint you with the campus community and help ease your transition to your new home.
Activities are designed to introduce you to new friends, mentor groups, the campus culture and opportunities for future involvement.
Opening Week activities and programs focus on the learning and social environment of the campus. A combination of specialized academic workshops and interactive programs will fill your week — credit and non-credit courses that build the foundation for a successful career at Missouri S&T.
You won't want to miss participating in the student design project during Opening Week!
Students involved in mathematics workshops (Problem Solving Workshop or Trig Review) prior to Opening Week will move in on Sunday, August 15. Students not taking math workshops will move in on Monday, August 16. This division allows students in mathematics workshops time to take their placement tests prior to the start of Opening Week and ensures that students in non-testing workshops do not have unnecessary idle time.
"S&T’s Opening Week is the best program for incoming freshmen that I’ve seen in all my years serving in higher education.
I’m amazed at how the teams — each with a dozen-plus students who had just met one another — began working together so quickly to solve problems and meet criteria for their modified remote-controlled vehicles.
Project X is a shining example of the hands-on learning that Miners experience at S&T and how Miners will be career-ready when they graduate from this wonderful institution."
-Chancellor Mo Dehghani
The schedule for Opening Week 2021 will be released in June. Content will be similar to that from 2020.
